Hey there and welcome to my page!
Before we get started, let me introduce myself. My name is Brandon. I grew up in Washington State
with a love of running, hiking, and being on the water. I have always had a passion for how things
worked, and building them for myself. Feel free to check out a few of the things I've built as well
as get to know a bit more about me.
My undergrad took place in scenic Bozeman Montana. My degree was is mechanical engineering, where I got the opportunity to learn how our world functions. This is also the unlikely begining of my developer career. My engineering classes taught us to use programs like MatLab which sparked the desire to code.
I have spent the last decade living, and adventuring in and around Bozeman. My friends and I love to hike the trails, boat the lakes, and snowshoe with majestic Bison. Living in Montana has taught me so much, from a respect for the nature around us, to also respecting the people around us. It's respect and understanding that I tackle both design challenges as well as my day to day interactions with others.
After graduating I decided I wanted to be a developer. To start I took it upon myself to learn the basics of developing web apps. I set out to build a simple web app, hangman. Using react I successfully, though not elegantly built a hangman app. Feel free to give it a try, and check out the code on Github.
My passion for building and newfound love of development brought me into a career at Oracle. My job includes building the html for emails and landing pages and executiong marketing campaigns using eloqua and certain. My main focus is marketing for Oracle's largest event, Oracle CloudWorld.
My developement journey has led me to Altcademy for a full stack web develeopment course. The first major project was to recreate Apple's website with basic html and css (non mobile responsive). Check out the site or see the code live on Github
The second project at Altcademy was to recreate an old version of Newsweek's website. This project focused on Bootstrap 3 to make the site mobile friendly. Check out my verison compared to the version we were tasked with copying, and see the code on Github.
The most recent project I completed was similar to the Newsweek clone with a focus on modern bootstrap to copy Airbnb's news site. This brought my skill up to modern standards using flexbox to make the website mobile responsive. Check out the site or dive into the code on Github.
